Stream on Youtube Shorts

Stream on Youtube Shorts

Not long ago, the Youtube video platform became able to launch live broadcasts in the Shorts section. Vertical streams are more effective in terms of attracting an audience and are able to gather a larger number of viewers compared to regular broadcasts. To start a live broadcast on YouTube Shorts, you need to follow these steps:

1. Launch the YouTube app on your mobile device.
2. Click on the plus icon at the bottom of the screen (near the central panel).
3. Select the "On Air" function
4. Click on the "Pencil" icon.
5. In the window that appears, enter a title for your live broadcast and be sure to select the broadcast audience, these are the necessary steps. You can also configure other settings for your broadcast.
6. Click on the "Next" button.
7. After completing the settings, click on the “Start live broadcast” button.
8. Pick up your phone and start your live broadcast in Shorts format.
Please note that the live video feature in YouTube Shorts may not be available in some regions or for users with fewer than 50 subscribers. Make sure you have the required number of subscribers and that your YouTube mobile app is updated to the latest version to have access to this feature.
Also, using a computer and the OBS Studio program, you can easily and in just a few minutes set up and launch simultaneously two broadcasts on Youtube, one in the usual format, and the second in the Shorts format. This helps you easily get into the platform’s recommendations, gain new subscribers and expand your audience.
What you will need for this:
1. To get started, set up and schedule a broadcast in a regular format.
2. The first thing we need to stream in Shorts format is a vertical plugin for OBS Studio, it can be downloaded from the official OBS Studio website.
3. Download and run the plugin installer. Select the path where you have OBS Studio installed and click “Next” and “Install”. The plugin is installed.
4. Now go to OBS Studio. We now have a window and a vertical scene has been added to the scenes, which can be configured.
5. Add sources. In order not to fool around with adjusting the source, right-click on the source and select Convert. This must be done with all other sources needed for vertical streaming in Shorts.
6. Next, go to the settings and select the resolution itself, for example 1920x1080. But for vertical broadcasting we need the opposite resolution, that is, 1080x1920.
7. Next, we need to add a server and broadcast key. It should be different from the main broadcast, which we will have in the usual format. The Shorts format requires a completely different key.
8. In Youtube Studio we need to schedule and set up another broadcast for the stream in Shorts format.
9. Add a new key for broadcasting and copy it. We also copy the URL for vertical broadcasting.
10. Insert a new key in the vertical scene settings, do not forget to insert the URL for vertical broadcast there.
11. Everything is ready for both broadcasts.
12. In OBS Studio, click the “Start Broadcast” button. Now you have started two live broadcasts at once.
13. Go to both broadcasts on Youtube Studio, and wait for the “Start broadcast” button to become available. Once the button becomes available, click on it on both broadcasts.
After all the steps taken, you will see how two broadcasts began on your channel at once, one in a horizontal format and the other in a vertical format.
