How to set up donations in MAX

Donations are one of the main sources of income for a streamer. In Telegram, this requires third-party bots and intermediary services that charge 10-20% commission. In MAX, everything is different. The MAX Pay payment system is built into the messenger, works with Russian cards and SBP, and the commission is only 3% for paid subscriptions and 0% for direct transfers.

This material is a step-by-step guide on how to set up receiving donations in MAX, connect MAX Pay, create a button for transfers, and start receiving money from subscribers.

What is MAX Pay and why is it beneficial for a streamer?

MAX Pay is an integrated MAX payment system. It's an SBP analogue, but within the messenger. Users can link a Mir card or set up SBP and transfer money to each other with one click.

For a streamer, this means three things. Direct transfers from viewers are commission-free — you receive exactly the amount that the subscriber sent. Paid subscriptions (regular monthly debits) are subject to a commission of only 3% — 3-10 times lower than in Telegram. Money arrives on the card instantly or within 1-3 banking days.

MAX Pay works only with Russian cards and SBP. The platform is not suitable for international donations.

What do you need to set up donations?

Minimum set: a MAX account (a regular user account), a MAX channel (where subscribers will come), a linked Mir card or activated SBP in your bank's application.

Everything is free. No additional subscriptions or paid tariffs are required.

Step-by-step guide: connecting MAX Pay

Step 1. Link your card or SBP.

Open MAX. Go to settings (gear icon in the bottom right corner). Find the "MAX Pay" or "Payments" section. Click "Add card". Enter your Mir card number, expiration date, and CVV. The card will link in 1-2 minutes.

Alternatively, SBP. In the same section, select "Connect SBP". The system will ask for confirmation through your bank's application. This will take another couple of minutes.

Step 2. Check that everything is working.

Transfer 10 rubles to yourself from your card to SBP or vice versa. If the money went through, everything is set up correctly. Now you can accept transfers.

Step 3. Set up a public link for donations.

MAX allows you to create a transfer link that can be published on the channel. In the MAX Pay section, click "Create transfer link". The system will generate a link like pay.max.me/your_username. Copy it. This is your public donation address.

How to create a donation button on your channel

Step 4. Publish a post with a button.

Go to your channel. Create a new post. Write a short text: "You can support the channel via the link. Thanks to everyone who helps us grow." No "donate please" or emotional pressure – it doesn't work in MAX.

Add a button. In the MAX message editor, there's a "Add button" function. Insert your link pay.max.me/username. Choose the button text, for example "Support", "Donate", "Send a gift".

Step 5. Pin the post.

After publishing, pin it to the channel. Click on the three dots next to the post → "Pin". Now every new subscriber will see the donation button.

Step 6. Periodically remind about donations.

No more than once a week. For example, after a successful stream: "Thanks to everyone who was on air. If you want to support the channel — the link is in the pinned post." Don't be intrusive.

How to set up automated thank you messages

MAX AI allows you to set up an automatic response to every donation. This increases loyalty and encourages repeat transfers.

Go to your channel settings → "MAX AI" → "Scenarios". Create a new scenario. Trigger — "receiving a transfer of X rubles or more". Select a minimum amount, for example, 100 rubles. Action — "send a message to the channel". Text: "Thanks @username for the donation! Who will support the channel next?"

Important: do not make automatic thank-you messages for every 10 rubles. The chat will turn into spam. Set a threshold of 100-200 rubles.

How to set up a paid subscription (regular donations)

This is an advanced version of donations. The subscriber pays once, and money is automatically debited every month. MAX commission is 3%. Income is stable and predictable.

Step 1. Create a paid channel.

In your channel settings, find the "Paid Subscription" section. Click "Create". Specify the amount: 100, 200, 500 rubles per month (or any other). Name the subscription, for example, "Channel Friends" or "Fire Support".

Step 2. Customize content for paid subscribers.

What a subscriber will receive for their money: access to private posts and streams, a separate chat only for paid subscribers, early access to news and announcements, voting for the topic of the next stream.

Do not hide stream announcements behind a paid subscription — this kills the channel. Exclusivity should be paid, not basic information.

Step 3. Publish a launch post.

"Starting a paid subscription for 150 rubles a month. What's inside: private streams with subscriber error analysis, a chat for insiders, voting for stream topics. The first 10 subscribers got a week's free access — write in private messages."

Step 4. Integrate the paid subscription with your chat.

MAX automatically assigns a special badge to paid subscribers in the chat (an icon next to the name). This is a status that motivates others to subscribe.

Examples of texts for donation posts

For an analytical channel: "My analyses and guides are free. But they take dozens of hours. If my materials help you grow — support the channel with any amount. Link below the post."

For a casual channel: "I stream for pleasure and for you. If you want to treat me to coffee — the button is below. Thank you for being with me."

For an educational channel: "My lessons and consultations are paid. But free guides and advice are regularly posted on this channel. If they helped you — support the channel with a donation. Thank you."

Do not write "urgently need money", "pay off debts", "for mom's surgery". This kills trust and reputation.

Common mistakes when setting up donations

Button not working. Check the donation link. It should be in the format pay.max.me/username, not just a phone number or nickname. Paste the link into your browser - does the transfer page open?

Too many reminders. Every post with a donation link reduces the desire to pay. Optimal is one pinned post and rare reminders (once every 1-2 weeks).

No thanks. A person sent money and received silence. They won't do it again. Always thank them, even if the amount is small. Automatic or manual - it doesn't matter, the main thing is that it exists.

Paid subscription without value. People pay not for the fact of subscription, but for what you give in return. Exclusive content must be truly valuable, not "I'll send a link to a stream that's already free."

Security and Legal Aspects

MAX Pay is a legal Russian payment system. All transfers go through banks. If you receive regular donations totaling 10,000 rubles or more per month, it is recommended to register as a self-employed person (4-6% tax) or an individual entrepreneur. The bank may request proof of funds origin.

Keep your donation link in a safe place. Do not publish it in open chats outside of MAX — fake transfers or phishing attempts may occur.

MAX Pay does not support anonymous transfers. The sender sees your name (as in a bank), unless you have configured it to be hidden. Check your privacy settings in the MAX Pay section.

Comparison: Donations in MAX vs Telegram

In MAX, direct transfers are commission-free. In Telegram — through third-party services with a commission of 10-20%. MAX wins.

In MAX, paid subscriptions have a 3% commission. In Telegram, through DonationAlerts and similar services — 10-20%. MAX wins again.

In MAX, the audience is more solvent (25-45 years old), conversion to donation is higher. In Telegram, the audience is massive, but a smaller percentage donates. MAX wins.

In MAX, there are no international transfers. In Telegram, you can accept donations from abroad. Here, Telegram wins.

Conclusion: Donations in MAX are simple and inexpensive

Setting up donations in MAX takes 10-15 minutes. Link your Mir card or SBP, create a transfer link, make a button on your channel, and pin the post. Optionally, set up a paid subscription for regular income.

MAX Pay gives streamers what other platforms don't: direct commission-free transfers, paid subscriptions with a 3% commission, Russian jurisdiction without withdrawal problems, and a mature, solvent audience.

MAX is not for international donations or for quick mass collection. MAX is for stable, regular transfers from loyal Russian-speaking subscribers. If your audience lives in Russia, MAX Pay is the best tool for receiving donations in 2026.

Deposit funds, one-click order, discounts and bonuses are available only for registered users. Register.
