Lies of P: Laxasia Walkthrough

Laxasia in Lies of P is one of those bosses that makes players truly rethink their playstyle. Up to this point, you might have relied on habit, stat upgrades, a lucky weapon, or the help of a Specter, but the fight with Laxasia demands much more. It's no longer enough to simply stay close to the boss and wait for a convenient opening. You need to understand the rhythm of her attacks, choose your distance correctly, use perfect guards at the right time, not be greedy with combos, and prepare in advance for a drastic change in tempo in the second phase.

Laxasia appears closer to the final part of Lies of P and is considered one of the most difficult bosses in the game. Her full name is Laxasia the Complete, and the fight itself is structured as a two-phase challenge: first, the player fights a heavily armored opponent who pressures with powerful physical attacks, and then gets a much faster, more aggressive, and electrified version of the boss. The transition to the second phase most often breaks progress, because the player gets used to one tempo, and then the game sharply forces them to react to a completely different fight. Laxasia is especially vulnerable to acid damage, so weapons, abrasives, and consumables with acid significantly simplify the battle.

Why Laxasia is So Difficult

Laxasia's main difficulty isn't just her high damage. In Lies of P, there are bosses who hit hard but provide clear windows for retaliation. Laxasia is dangerous because she constantly disrupts your familiar rhythm. In the first phase, she appears heavy and predictable, but her long attack strings force the player to either confidently block or skillfully disengage. In the second phase, she becomes much faster, actively using lightning, jumps, dashes, and aerial attacks. If a player goes into the fight without a plan, they often get through the first phase with almost no resources left, and then die almost immediately in the second.

The second problem is psychological. After a successful first phase, it seems like the fight is almost won, but in reality, the true test is just beginning. Laxasia in the second phase doesn't allow you to heal calmly, quickly closes the distance, and punishes any attempt to land a "just in case" hit. Therefore, the strategy for defeating Laxasia in Lies of P should not be built around aggression, but around control: you must know when to attack, when to block, when it's best to retreat, and when it's more advantageous to take a risk and attempt a perfect guard.

How to Prepare for the Fight with Laxasia

Before the fight, prepare your weapon, consumables, and defense against electrical damage. Laxasia actively uses lightning, especially in the second phase, so items and equipment that reduce electrical damage or help deal with the electrical status effect will be useful. But the main focus should still be on acid. Acid abrasives, acid throwing items, acid weapons, and an appropriate Legion Arm can significantly speed up the fight, as the boss reacts poorly to this type of damage.

A good option for the fight is a weapon with decent speed and good guard integrity. Too slow a weapon can be inconvenient, especially in the second phase when Laxasia constantly changes position and rarely provides long openings. On the other hand, a very light weapon may not deal enough damage and quickly prolong the battle. The ideal choice depends on your build, but the principle is simple: the weapon should allow you to quickly punish the boss after her miss and not deplete your stamina.

It's also worth stocking up on throwable items in advance. They are especially useful in the second phase when Laxasia frequently creates distance or hovers during dangerous movements. Throwable items shouldn't replace your main tactic, but they help finish off the boss, quickly accumulate damage, or take advantage of moments when closing into melee is too risky.

Laxasia First Phase

Laxasia's first phase seems slower, but it shouldn't be underestimated. The boss uses heavy sweeping blows, delayed attack strings, and attacks that can knock down the player if they try to roll without understanding the timings. It's important not to rush here. Your goal isn't just to deplete the first health bar, but to do so with minimal loss of Pulse Cells, health, and consumables. If you enter the second phase almost empty, the fight becomes much harder.

In the first phase, it's better to play calmly and carefully observe her weapon. Many of Laxasia's attacks have a noticeable wind-up, but the hit doesn't always land when the player expects it. Lies of P often punishes early blocks and early dodges, and Laxasia uses this particularly well. If you're not confident in perfect guarding, you can partially rely on regular blocking with subsequent health recovery through attacks, but don't solely depend on it: long attack strings quickly deplete your stamina.

Special attention should be paid to her shield on her back. In the first phase, it's useful to try and break the boss's defensive elements and punish her after major misses. When Laxasia finishes a heavy combo or performs an attack with a large recovery, you get a short window for one or two hits. Don't try to execute a long combo if you're not sure she has truly finished her attack. Greed almost always results in health loss against Laxasia.

How to Act in the Second Phase

The second phase completely changes the feel of the fight. Laxasia becomes faster, more aggressive, and uses electrical attacks more actively. At the beginning of the phase, she often takes to the air and throws lightning bolts. An important mechanic is that these lightning bolts can be reflected back at the boss with a perfect guard, dealing damage to her. Many players consider this one of the key moments of the fight: if you learn to reflect lightning, the start of the second phase stops being a catastrophe and turns into an opportunity to quickly deplete a portion of Laxasia's health.

If you're having trouble perfect guarding the lightning, you can use the Perfect Guard Grindstone. This significantly simplifies the most nerve-wracking part of the second phase, as it allows you to survive the electrical barrage and the subsequent dash more safely. This approach is often recommended by players who are stuck on Laxasia: activate the buff before the second phase or immediately after it begins, reflect the lightning, survive the boss's descent, and then switch to normal tactics involving cautious attacks, acid, and distance control.

In the second phase, you cannot constantly run away. Laxasia quickly closes the distance, and some of her dashes effectively catch the player even after attempting to retreat. But standing in front of her without a plan is also not an option. The best approach is to alternate defense, dodges, and short counterattacks. After her large jumps and completed combos, there is usually a small window, but it's shorter than in the first phase. Land one or two hits—then immediately prepare to defend.

Laxasia's Weakness and Best Damage

Laxasia's main weakness is acid. Therefore, before the fight, you should bring an acid abrasive, acid throwable items, and if your build allows, an acid weapon. This isn't a magic win button, but the difference is immediately noticeable: the boss's health depletes faster, and the attempt itself becomes shorter. The shorter the second phase lasts, the less chance you have of making mistakes with her lightning, dashes, and fast combos.

It's best to use acid not chaotically, but at moments when you can definitely land several hits or when the boss is distracted by a Specter. If you're using a helper, acid buffs become even more useful: the Specter draws some aggro, and you get the opportunity to attack from the side or from behind. However, don't rely entirely on the Specter. Laxasia can switch targets quickly, and in the second phase, her movements are so sharp that even with a helper, the player will still have to defend themselves.

It's best to save throwing items for the second phase or the final part of the fight. In the first phase, they can easily be used up too early, leaving you without a safe way to finish off the boss later. If Laxasia is low on health in the second phase, throwing items can settle the fight, especially when getting close to her is dangerous.

Should You Use a Specter?

Using a Specter against Laxasia is a viable and recommended option if your goal is to defeat the boss without unnecessary struggle. In Lies of P, the Specter doesn't make the fight automatic, but it helps relieve pressure on the player, especially in the first phase. While Laxasia attacks your helper, you can safely deal damage, use acid, create distance, and heal. For players going through the game for the first time, this is a normal and effective strategy.

However, there's an important nuance: the Specter can hinder learning her timings. If you want to defeat Laxasia "cleanly" relying on perfect guards, the helper can sometimes disrupt the rhythm because the boss turns, changes attack directions, and behaves less predictably. Therefore, the choice depends on your goal. If victory is paramount, use the Specter and enhance it with the Cube. If you want to fully master the fight, try without it, but be prepared for more attempts.

Common Mistakes When Fighting Laxasia

The most common mistake is to get through the first phase too expensively. The player expends almost all their Pulse Cells, consumables, and nerves, then enters the second phase and dies to the first lightning bolts. It's more correct to consider the first phase a training ground for control. If you consistently exit it with a good supply of healing, then the fight becomes realistic.

The second mistake is trying to dodge everything. In Lies of P, dodging works, but Laxasia is specifically designed so that the player uses both normal blocks and perfect guards. This is especially true for the lightning in the second phase. If you only try to run and roll, you can deprive yourself of free damage to the boss and constantly get caught by follow-up attacks.

The third mistake is greed after a successful dodge. Laxasia often performs a series that visually seems finished, but then adds another hit. If you rush to attack too early, you expose yourself to the continuation. It's better to deal less damage but preserve health than to try for an extra hit and lose half your health bar.

The fourth mistake is forgetting about stamina. The fight with Laxasia requires constant blocking, dashing, attacking, and retreating. If you spend all your stamina on offense, you simply won't have the resources to defend when the boss retaliates. This is especially dangerous in the second phase, where pauses between attacks are shorter.

Short Tactics Against Laxasia

Before the fight, equip electrical defense, prepare acid abrasives and throwing items, and choose a weapon that allows you to quickly attack after the boss misses. In the first phase, play calmly: study her wind-ups, don't spam attacks, hit after completed combos, and try to enter the second phase with maximum healing resources.

In the second phase, immediately prepare for lightning. If possible, reflect them with a perfect guard, as this gives a strong advantage and allows you to deal damage to Laxasia from a distance. After she lands, don't panic: survive the first dash, regain your position, and switch to cautious play. Use acid, short attacks, and throwing items when the boss presents a safe opening.

If Laxasia is left with a small amount of health, do not try to finish her off at all costs in close combat. It is at this point that players most often lose an almost-won attempt. It's better to retreat, restore stamina, wait for a predictable attack, and only then end the fight.

Summary: How to Beat Laxasia in Lies of P

Defeating Laxasia in Lies of P is built on three things: preparation, patience, and proper reaction in the second phase. Acid damage helps to deplete her health faster, electrical defense reduces the risk of instant mistakes, and perfectly guarding her lightning turns one of the boss's most dangerous attacks into a source of damage for you. If the first phase demands discipline, the second tests your composure: you cannot panic, you cannot be greedy, and you cannot waste stamina without reason.

Laxasia is difficult, but fair. She punishes chaos, but becomes readable after a few attempts. When you stop perceiving the fight as endless aggression and start seeing its structure, the walkthrough becomes much clearer. First phase – conserve resources and don't rush. Second phase – reflect lightning, survive dashes, use acid, and only attack in safe windows. This approach offers the most stable chance to defeat Laxasia and complete one of Lies of P's most memorable fights.
