What to give a streamer: gift ideas by budget for New Year and birthdays

The best gift for a streamer is whatever is missing from their particular setup. Under 1,000 ₽ you can give a headphone stand or a small light; for 1,000–5,000 ₽, a decent USB microphone, a boom arm or a large desk mat; for 5,000–15,000 ₽, a Full HD webcam or a stream controller; from 15,000 ₽, a Stream Deck, an Elgato light or a chair. If you don't know the setup, give something that doesn't depend on hardware: a Twitch sub or bits, a donation through DonationAlerts, a Boosty subscription. First, find out what the streamer already has

A microphone bought "at random" almost always turns out worse than the one already on the desk, and a webcam may not fit the monitor or the software. Five minutes of reconnaissance will save the gift:

• Channel description. Many streamers post a list of their gear in the panels under the stream on Twitch or in the description on YouTube: microphone, camera, headphones, chair.
• Chat commands. Type !setup, !pc, !mic or !gear in chat — many channels have a bot set up to reply with a list of equipment. The question looks like ordinary viewer curiosity.
• Moderators. Moderators and longtime viewers usually know what has broken for the streamer and what they complained about on stream. Ask them in a private message.
• Stream VODs. Streamers often say things out loud like "I really should buy a proper light" or "these headphones are crackling again". If you watch streams, remember such remarks.
• Wishlist. Some streamers keep a wishlist on a marketplace or a link to a fundraiser in the channel description. This is the most reliable option.

The prices below are approximate, based on listings on Yandex Market and Ozon in late October 2026. They may change by New Year, so check before buying. For popular models you often come across sellers charging 2–3 times the usual price — don't take the first offer you see.

Under 1,000 ₽

• Headphone stand. Simple stands cost roughly 400–850 ₽, and there are versions with a hook that clamps under the desk. A small thing, but the headphones stop lying around on the keyboard.
• 26 cm ring light. Simple desktop models start at 800 ₽, with a tall tripod — roughly 1,300–1,800 ₽. For a beginner streamer with a webcam it is a noticeable improvement in picture quality. • Desk accessories. A cable organizer, a phone holder, a desktop gamepad stand — inexpensive and useful to almost anyone.
• Digital gift. A donation with a warm message that pops up right on stream — more on that below.

1,000–5,000 ₽

A microphone in this budget only makes sense if the streamer currently talks into a headset or a laptop mic. The Fifine AM8 is dynamic, so it picks up less keyboard and room noise than the K669, which is a condenser. A boom arm fits almost any microphone, but check whether the desk has an edge to attach the clamp to.

5,000–15,000 ₽

• Full HD webcam. The Logitech C920 or C920e is a streaming classic, roughly 4,600–7,100 ₽. The Elgato Facecam Neo is around 12,000 ₽.
• Stream controller. Buttons that switch scenes, mute the microphone and trigger sounds. A budget alternative to the Stream Deck is the Ajazz AKP153 with 15 on-screen keys, roughly 4,700–6,200 ₽. The 6-key Elgato Stream Deck Mini is around 11,700 ₽.
• A step-up microphone. The HyperX QuadCast 2 is roughly 13,300–16,000 ₽. Give it only if you know for sure that the streamer's current microphone is a simpler one.
• Electronics store gift card. A gift card for a large electronics retailer or marketplace can be bought for any amount. The streamer will pick what they need themselves — an honest option if you couldn't find out the setup.

From 15,000 ₽

A chair is a gift that is hard to get wrong: a streamer spends 6–10 hours a day in it. But it's best to find out the size and firmness beforehand, and better still to let them sit in it at the store. Digital gifts straight to the channel

They are convenient to give live: the streamer sees the gift immediately and chat acknowledges it. But each platform has its own rules and its own restrictions for Russia.

Twitch gift subscription

On the channel page, click "Subscribe" and choose "Gift a Sub". You can gift it to a specific person — find them by username or click their name in chat — or send several subs at once to the community: Twitch will hand them out to the channel's viewers itself. A gift sub lasts one month and does not renew automatically. You can't gift one to someone who already has a subscription to that channel. The money for a gift sub goes to support the streamer, even if the recipient turns off its perks. At checkout you can leave a message in chat about the gift.

Since May 2026, Twitch has started opening subscriptions and bits to all streamers, not just Affiliates and Partners, but money can only be withdrawn with Affiliate or Partner status. So you can gift a sub to a brand-new channel, but the streamer will get the money only once they meet the program's requirements.

Twitch Bits

Bits are Twitch's internal currency: a viewer buys them and sends them to chat along with a message (this is called a "cheer"). For every bit sent, the streamer receives 1 cent. More in our article on what Bits are on Twitch.

Paying from Russia. Twitch does not accept cards from Russian banks: the payment is declined. Subs and Bits can only be paid for with a card from a foreign bank. If you don't have one, choose one of the options below: a donation, Boosty or a physical gift.

Kick subscription

On Kick there is a "Gift a Sub" button next to "Subscribe". You can gift a sub to a specific viewer or to the community — up to 500 in one purchase, and anonymously too. The price is fixed at 5 dollars per sub, and it usually lasts a month and does not renew. The streamer gets 95% of the subscription price. Payments are processed by Stripe: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and, depending on the region, Google Pay, Apple Pay and PayPal. Russian cards do not work for such foreign payments.

YouTube memberships

On YouTube, gift memberships are bought during a live stream or premiere through the "Membership gifting" option in chat. The gifts go to viewers who have agreed to receive them and have been active on the channel recently. A gift lasts up to a month and does not renew. This option doesn't work for Russia: in March 2022 YouTube suspended memberships, Super Chats and Super Stickers in the country.

Discord Nitro

Nitro is gifted through the gift icon next to the message box: in a DM the gift goes to a specific person, in a public channel anyone can claim it. But this doesn't work for Russia: Discord has suspended purchases for users from Russia and for Russian payment methods, and gifted Nitro can't be redeemed on a Russian account. It's an option only for a streamer in another country whose gift is bought by someone with a foreign card.

Donation through DonationAlerts

The simplest digital gift from Russia. Most Russian-speaking streamers have a DonationAlerts link in the channel description or in the !donate command. You enter an amount, a name and a message, pay, and an alert with your text pops up on stream. The service charges a fee, the size of which depends on the payment method — the final amount is shown on the form before you pay. For a birthday you can agree with chat in advance and send a series of donations with greetings in the same minute.

Boosty subscription or donation

If the streamer has a Boosty page, you can sign up for a chosen tier there, send a one-time donation or buy a gift subscription for a chosen creator, tier and period. Boosty accepts cards from Russian banks.

What not to give

• Hardware at random. A graphics card, sound card, capture card or XLR microphone should be given only after you've learned the setup. Otherwise the gift won't fit the computer or will turn out worse than what they already have.
• The cheapest microphone. Microphones for 500–800 ₽ from a marketplace usually sound worse than an average headset mic. Better to add a bit and get a proven model like the Fifine K669 or AM8 — or give a boom arm.
• A ring light for a streamer who doesn't use a camera. First check whether they have a webcam on stream.
• Clothing and merch in sizes guessed by eye. A hoodie with the channel logo is a great gift, but only if you know the size.
• Gifts that require ongoing payment. A subscription with auto-renewal or software with monthly billing will become an expense for the streamer. Choose something that is paid for in advance.

A group gift from viewers

If a streamer needs an expensive item, the community can chip in together. Here is how it usually works:

1. One organizer — a moderator or a longtime viewer — writes to everyone else in the channel's Discord or Telegram, so the streamer doesn't find out ahead of time.
2. They choose a specific item and model, checking the setup against the channel description.
3. The money is collected in one place: by transfer to the organizer or through a fundraiser in a banking app. The organizer publishes how much has been collected and shows the receipt after the purchase.
4. The gift is presented on stream: for example, everyone writes a greeting in chat in the same minute, and the organizer sends a photo of the gift or a tracking number.
