How to Watch Multiple Streams at Once: Multitwitch and Other Methods (2026)
The easiest way to watch several streams at once is a multi-view website. For Twitch, type multitwitch.tv/ into the address bar followed by the channel names separated by slashes, for example multitwitch.tv/kanal1/kanal2/kanal3, and all the broadcasts open in one tab as a grid. If you need to mix Twitch, YouTube and Kick, use escharts.com/multistream-viewer. Keep the sound on one player and mute the rest. Each 720p stream takes roughly 2.5–4.5 Mbps of download speed and each 1080p stream 5–7.5 Mbps, so four Full HD streams already need a stable 25–30 Mbps connection.
Which multi-view services work in 2026
We tested the popular sites in October 2026. Every one listed below opens, is free and requires no sign-up. Video plays through each platform’s own embedded player, so quality and latency are the same as on Twitch.
| Service | Platforms | How to use | Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| multitwitch.tv | Twitch only | Channel names separated by slashes in the URL | The oldest and simplest; resizes the windows automatically and has a button to show chat |
| twitchtheater.tv | Mostly Twitch and YouTube | Channels separated by slashes, chats after /c/ | Fine-grained sound control, custom columns, full-screen mode with chat |
| multistre.am | Twitch only | Pick channels and layout from a menu | Ready-made grid layouts for 1 to 8 windows |
| kadgar.net | Twitch only | The kadgar.net/live section | A minimalist viewer |
| escharts.com/multistream-viewer | Twitch, Kick, YouTube, Trovo | Add channels in the builder | Custom layouts, drag-and-drop windows; no shared chat |
If you only need Twitch, multitwitch.tv is enough. Of the sites we tested, only escharts supports Kick, so use it for mixed tournaments. Avoid sites that ask you to log in with a Twitch account with channel management permissions or to install unknown extensions: simple viewing needs neither.
How to open several streams in a minute
- Copy the channel names. The name is the part of the link after twitch.tv/, for example in twitch.tv/esl_csgo it is esl_csgo.
- Type multitwitch.tv/ into the address bar followed by the names separated by slashes: multitwitch.tv/nik1/nik2. For four channels, add two more names the same way.
- Press Enter. The site arranges the windows so that each one is as large as possible without distorting the aspect ratio.
- If the players don’t start, click each one: browsers often block autoplay of video with sound.
- Add or remove a channel with the Change Streams button, and turn on chat with the Toggle Chat button.
- Bookmark the resulting address. Next time the whole grid opens with one click.
With twitchtheater.tv the procedure is the same: channels separated by slashes after the site address. For a mix of platforms, open escharts.com/multistream-viewer, choose a platform, enter the channel and add the next one.
Sound: what you hear and how to keep your sanity
You can’t make out four voices at once, so there is only one workable setup: sound on one player and the rest muted.
- Pick a main stream. Usually it is the official tournament broadcast with a caster, or the streamer you are following. Mute the other players with the speaker icon in the player itself.
- Switch with the M key. In the Twitch player it mutes and unmutes the sound. First click the window you want, then press M.
- Adjust the volume separately. A background stream can stay at 10–20% so that you hear the reactions without drowning out the main voice.
- Use the twitchtheater.tv settings. There you can choose whether players start with or without sound, mute everything at once and enable smart switching: if the channel you are listening to goes offline or you remove it, the sound moves to another one by itself.
The same rule applies to chat: keep one or two chats open. On multitwitch.tv chat is switched on with a button; on twitchtheater.tv chats are added separately, several at a time. If you want to write during a tournament, it is easier to open the chat of the channel you want in a separate browser window next to the grid.
How much internet you need for several streams
What matters when watching is download speed, and it adds up: each player pulls its own stream. YouTube’s help recommends a steady 2.5 Mbps for 720p, 5 Mbps for 1080p and 20 Mbps for 4K. On Twitch the bitrate is set by the streamer: usually 3–4.5 Mbps for 720p and up to 6–7.5 Mbps for 1080p.
| Number of streams | All at 720p | All at 1080p |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | 6–9 Mbps | 12–15 Mbps |
| 4 | 12–18 Mbps | 25–30 Mbps |
| 6 | 18–27 Mbps | 36–45 Mbps |
| 9 | 27–40 Mbps | 55–70 Mbps |
The figures are approximate and based on Twitch. Add headroom for the other devices in your home. For more on how to measure your real speed and how download differs from upload, see our article what internet speed you need for streaming.
To reduce the load, lower the quality in secondary windows. In the Twitch player click the gear, choose “Quality” and set 480p or 360p. In a small grid window the difference is barely visible, while the traffic drops several times over. “Auto” lowers quality by itself when the connection struggles, but in a grid it often keeps high quality in every window, so it is better to set it manually. Besides your internet, your computer carries a load too: each player decodes video, and on a weak laptop six 1080p windows noticeably heat up the CPU.
Can you watch several streams on a phone or tablet
The official Twitch, YouTube and Kick apps show one broadcast at a time. They have no built-in grid. Here is what actually works:
- A multi-view site in a mobile browser. On a tablet two to four windows look fine; on a phone more than two get tiny. Switch the browser to the desktop version if the site squeezes the windows.
- Split screen. On Android and iPad you can open two apps side by side, for example Twitch and a browser with a second stream.
- Picture-in-picture. One stream moves into a small floating window over another app. Support depends on the device and platform.
On a phone, keep an eye on mobile data: four 720p streams will eat roughly 5–8 GB per hour.
Multi-POV on esports broadcasts
Tournament organizers have repeatedly tried to give viewers individual player cameras right on the official broadcast. On Twitch this worked through the Command Center feature: since 2022 ALGS for Apex Legends let you watch two to four windows at once and listen to the comms of a chosen team, and in 2023 the grid grew to 20 points of view. Later ALGS dropped Command Center and announced a new multiview built together with FACEIT, which was in beta at the time. Whether it works in 2026 could not be officially confirmed. League of Legends had a service called Pro View with synchronized player cameras; it was shut down on February 1, 2022.
So in 2026 the most reliable way to get multi-POV is a tournament’s extra channels and the players’ personal streams. Many tournaments run a second channel in parallel with a different game or language, and players stream their screens with a delay. Put them in one grid on multitwitch.tv or twitchtheater.tv: the main broadcast with sound, the player cameras muted. Keep in mind that each channel has a different delay, so the windows will drift apart by a few seconds.
Official Twitch features: what exists and what doesn’t
- Squad Stream is closed. Twitch removed it on January 17, 2024. It showed up to four streamers in one player, but fewer than 1% of Partner broadcasts used it.
- Stream Together replaced Squad Stream. It is a feature for streamers: guests appear in the host’s broadcast, and the viewer watches a single stream.
- Shared Chat. Since September 2024, in a Stream Together session the participants’ chats can be merged: viewers of different channels talk in one feed. Subscriptions, Bits and polls stay on their own channel.
- Shared Viewership. Since December 2024, with shared chat on, Twitch shows the combined viewer count of all participants in the joint broadcast.
- Theatre Mode. Stretches the player across the whole browser window and leaves chat on the right. Turn it on with the button in the player or with Alt+T (Option+T on a Mac). It enlarges one stream but doesn’t show several.
Twitch has no built-in grid of other people’s streams for viewers. We covered how joint broadcasts work from the streamer’s side in our article how to do a joint stream on Twitch.
Why a streamer needs multi-view
- Control of a joint broadcast. If you play with teammates and each streams from their own channel, open a grid of your own channels. You see at once whose quality dropped, whose sound disappeared or who forgot to switch off the “Break” scene.
- Checking your own stream through a viewer’s eyes. Open your channel muted in a separate tab or on a second device. This shows the real delay, the quality and how your overlay looks.
- Raids and collaborations. Before a raid it is handy to keep the two or three channels you plan to send your viewers to in a grid and pick the one having an interesting moment right now.
- Multistreaming. If you go live on several platforms at once, the escharts grid shows Twitch, Kick and YouTube side by side. For the rules and setup of such a broadcast, read our article multistreaming on YouTube, Twitch and Kick.
A joint broadcast works best when each participant has a live audience of their own. If your channel is just starting out, you can add starting viewers and your first followers through the Twitch services on our platform, which makes it easier for new viewers to stay in the stream.
FAQ
Does the streamer get the view if I watch through multitwitch?
Such sites show the embedded Twitch player, and the viewer is usually visible in the channel’s online count. But Twitch does not officially publish how views through embedded players are counted, so for drops and watch rewards it is better to keep the channel page on Twitch itself open.
How many streams can be opened at once?
There is no hard limit on multitwitch.tv; it all comes down to your internet and computer. In practice four windows are comfortable on an ordinary monitor, and six to nine on a large screen with lowered quality in the secondary windows.
Can I watch Twitch and YouTube in one grid?
Yes. Twitchtheater.tv supports Twitch and YouTube, and escharts.com/multistream-viewer supports Twitch, Kick, YouTube and Trovo.
Why don’t the players in the grid start?
Browsers block autoplay of video with sound. Click each player or allow the site to autoplay in the browser settings. Another cause is an ad blocker interfering with the embedded player; try disabling it for this site.
Will Squad Stream come back?
No. Twitch closed it in January 2024, and joint broadcasts now use Stream Together with shared chat.
Does Twitch have an app for watching several streams?
No official one: the Twitch apps for PC, phones and consoles show one stream at a time. For a grid, use multi-view sites in the browser.
