Many already know that Sony is developing the next generation Sony PS VR for the current version of the PS5 consoles. According to some reports, the company plans to share some details closer to 2022. However, at the moment we have several fresh details.
The new generation will get a couple of OLED screens with a resolution of 2000x2040 pixels. Plus, they talk about an expanded angle of view up to 110 degrees and support for HDR.
The headset, in addition to the Foveated Rendering of the previous generation, will have a similar technology to perform similar tasks. Thanks to this, the device will be the player's eye for rendering a more detailed picture, this will reduce the load on the GPU. The developers have also come up with the so-called "haptic technology", which is designed to reduce the sensation of motion sickness. The new version of the controllers will get capacitive touch sensors in addition to adaptive triggers.
But it is more likely that something else is more important. Sony wants to rethink the positioning of the next generation PS VR and switch completely to AAA games. That is, the company will contribute to the release of high-budget games on its headset, since we know that it is the release of such games that will increase the demand for it.
