Why a Kick stream didn't appear in the past broadcasts section
Why a Kick stream didn't appear in past broadcasts
After a broadcast ends on Kick, the recording doesn't always show up in the past broadcasts section right away. The platform needs to finish processing the video, link it to the channel, and display it in the list of available recordings. Until these processes finish, viewers may not see the VOD even though the broadcast itself went fine.
Sometimes the cause isn't a delay but channel settings, a failure when ending the stream, or restrictions on the platform's side. First check that the broadcast has actually ended, then rule out the most common technical causes.
It's important to distinguish a recording on your computer from a recording on Kick. If OBS or another program saved the video locally, that doesn't mean the platform automatically added it to past broadcasts. The local file and the VOD on the channel are created independently of each other.
Check your broadcast recording settings
The first cause is that the stream saving feature is turned off or unavailable for your current channel settings. Open the Kick creator panel and find the sections related to streaming, video, or broadcast archive. Item names may change after interface updates, so look for the recording-saving and past-broadcast visibility options.
Check that you're logged into the account you actually streamed from. This mistake happens to creators who use multiple channels or open the creator panel in different browser profiles. In that case, the broadcast may have been saved to another channel, and it won't appear in the current list.
Don't confuse the recording setting in OBS with the VOD setting on Kick. OBS can record the stream to disk, but it doesn't control whether the recording appears in the past broadcasts section. If the archive on the platform is disabled, the local recording will remain the only copy.
Wait for processing and check that the stream ended
The recording may be missing in the first minutes after the stream ends due to processing. This is especially noticeable after a long broadcast, an unstable connection, or abruptly closing the program. At this point, don't immediately start several new streams and change channel settings: first let the platform finish processing.
Refresh the channel page and the creator panel, then check the past broadcasts section from another device or in incognito mode. This rules out stale browser data, a saved session, and a page display error. If the list is empty in only one browser, the problem is most likely related to the cache or the account in the current session.
Also make sure the broadcast has actually ended on Kick's side. If your internet drops, OBS fails, or the browser closes, the platform may consider the stream active for some time. In that case, the recording doesn't always appear in the archive right away. Check the channel status and make sure a new session isn't running in the background.

The recording may have been deleted or hidden
If the VOD appeared at first and then disappeared, the cause may not be a technical error. A recording can be deleted manually from the creator panel, and individual videos may become unavailable after a content check. Restrictions are possible due to copyright complaints, violations of platform rules, or other moderation.
Check the notifications in your account and messages related to the specific broadcast. If Kick reported a restriction, you won't be able to restore the recording on your own: you need to review the reason and, if necessary, contact support through the official channel.
Also check the archive retention period. Platforms may set different conditions for saving past broadcasts depending on the account type, channel status, and internal rules. If the recording was made a long time ago, it may have disappeared not because of a failure but because of retention limits. It's best to confirm the current terms in Kick's help center.
Check video availability and the channel link
Sometimes the recording exists but isn't shown in the general list due to an interface error. Open the channel page directly, go to past broadcasts, and check whether there's a video there under a different title or end time. After a technical failure, the title, category, or duration may display incorrectly.
If you sent viewers a link to the recording in advance, open it separately. A direct link helps you determine whether the video exists, but it doesn't guarantee it's available to all users. The recording may open for the creator but not for viewers due to visibility restrictions, a review, or deletion.
It's useful to check the page from another account. If the VOD is visible only to the channel owner, look at the access settings and moderation messages. If the recording isn't visible to anyone, the problem is more likely related to processing, ending the stream, or saving the video.
What to do if the stream still didn't appear
Gather information before contacting Kick support. Include the channel name, the approximate start and end time of the broadcast, the stream title, the channel link, and a description of the problem. If you saved screenshots from OBS or the creator panel, attach them. Don't send your password, verification codes, or other login details.
If you have a local recording, save it separately and don't delete it until the cause is clear. It won't replace the VOD on the Kick page, but it will help you restore the broadcast content manually if the platform doesn't return the original recording. For future streams, enable local recording in OBS and periodically check how the archive appears on the channel.
Don't start another stream just to test unless the cause is clear. A new stream won't restore the missing recording and may make it harder to find the right session in the channel history.
Quick summary: what to check step by step
- Make sure you opened the correct channel and the broadcast has actually ended.
- Check the saving and visibility settings for past broadcasts in the creator panel.
- Refresh the page, open the channel in another browser or incognito mode, and wait for processing to finish.
- Check notifications about moderation, copyright complaints, and the recording's retention period.
- If the VOD didn't appear, save the broadcast details and contact official Kick support.
