How to find out which groups a person is subscribed to on VKontakte

What you can view in a VKontakte profile

VKontakte shows the communities a user is a member of or subscribed to in a separate section of their profile. In different versions of the site and app, it may be called "Groups," "Communities," or "Subscriptions." The name and location of the block sometimes change after an interface update.

Usually, the public list shows public pages and groups that are accessible based on privacy settings. If the profile owner has restricted the visibility of communities, you won't be able to view the full list. There is no way to bypass this restriction through standard VKontakte features.

How to view groups from a computer

Open the VKontakte website in your browser and go to the page of the user you want. You can find the profile through the search bar, friends list, or messages.

On a phone, some blocks may not appear right away. If you only see a few communities, look for a button like "Show all." If necessary, update the app: the names of items depend on the version and operating system.

Why the list of groups isn't displayed

The absence of a section doesn't always mean the person isn't a member of any community. There may be several reasons:

• the user has hidden the list of groups through privacy settings;
• viewing is allowed only for friends, and you're not in that circle;
• the community was deleted, renamed, or became unavailable;
• the profile is blocked, private, or restricts access to detailed information;
• in the mobile version, the block you need is inside the additional information section.

Private communities may also not be fully displayed. A group page may only open for members, and membership data may be hidden. If you and the user have communities in common, VKontakte sometimes shows them separately, but that list doesn't replace the full list of subscriptions.

Don't enter your password, a code from a message, or session data on websites that promise to show hidden groups. Such methods don't unlock private information through official VKontakte features and can lead to losing access to your account.
