How to Schedule a Post in MAX
What a scheduled post in MAX is
A scheduled post lets you prepare a post for a channel in advance and choose the time when it should appear to subscribers. This is convenient if content needs to go out in the morning, during a stream, or at a time when you can't open MAX manually.
This feature applies specifically to posts in channels. It may not be available for regular chats and direct messages. Button names depend on the app version and device: you may see options like "Schedule," "Scheduled post," or a clock icon.
Before you start, check that you're signed in to the correct account and have channel admin rights. If you can only read the channel or send messages without management access, you won't be able to create a scheduled post.
What to check before creating a post
First, prepare the text of your post. Check the links, mentions, line breaks, and formatting. If the post is related to a stream, include the exact start time and add a link to the broadcast if it's already available.
Next, attach a photo, video, or other required file. Wait for the upload to finish: there should be no progress indicator or error message next to the attachment. If the material is still uploading, some post settings may be unavailable.
Check the date and time separately. If MAX doesn't show a time zone selector, rely on the time zone of the device or client you're creating the post from. For example, if your phone is set to the Moscow time zone, 19:30 should be understood as 19:30 Moscow time, not as a subscriber's time in another region. Before confirming, make sure the date, time, and time zone are set correctly on your device.
How to create a scheduled post
Once you've prepared the content, open the post editor in the desired channel. The exact steps may differ slightly in the mobile, web, or desktop version of MAX, but the logic is the same.
- Open MAX and go to the channel where you want to publish the post.
- Tap the post creation field and write your text. Add a photo, video, or file if needed.
- Check that the text displays in full and the attachments uploaded without errors.
- Find the send button. In some versions of MAX there's an additional menu next to the arrow; in others you need to press and hold the send button or tap the clock icon.
- Select "Schedule," "Scheduled post," or a similar command.
- Set the date and time for the post to go out. If there's no separate time zone selector, use the time shown by the current client based on your device settings.
- Check the content, date, and time, then confirm the scheduled post.
After confirming, check that the entry appears in the list of scheduled posts. If the card doesn't show up, don't close the editor right away: the confirmation may not have gone through, or the attachment upload may have failed.
Can you schedule a video or clip
A post with video can be scheduled in the same editor if your version of MAX allows attaching a video to a post. There's no separate "Schedule clip" command needed: a short video is added like any other video, and then you choose the date and time for it to go out.
If MAX won't accept a particular format, the file is too large, or the upload doesn't finish, prepare a different version of the video first. You can transcode the video to a supported format, lower the resolution, or shorten the duration. Once the upload succeeds, open the scheduling menu again.
Don't state a universal file size limit for all versions and post types without checking: limits may depend on MAX itself, the device, the attachment type, and the current client version. The exact limit is usually shown when you try to upload or in an interface tooltip. If the file exceeds the allowed size, MAX may show a warning, stop the upload, or prevent you from confirming the post.
For a stream announcement, it's convenient to schedule the post about 20–30 minutes before the start. For example, if the broadcast starts at 20:00, schedule the post for 19:30–19:40. That's enough time for subscribers to see the reminder and make it to the stream. For a large video, allow extra time for uploading and checking the file.
How to check a scheduled post and its status
To make sure the post was saved, open channel management again. Find the scheduled posts section or the clock icon next to the post creation field. The list should show the post card, its content, and the set time.
Check not only the text but also the attached files. If a video or image didn't upload fully, the entry may be saved without the needed material or may fail to send. Before the scheduled time, open the card and replace the attachment if you notice a problem.
An automatic push notification to the admin about each post going out is not guaranteed. Don't rely on a notification alone: after the scheduled time, open the channel and find the post manually. This is the clearest way to verify that the entry actually appeared for subscribers.
Depending on the version of MAX, the scheduled posts list may show a status such as "Scheduled," "Published," or "Error." After a successful publication, the card sometimes disappears from the queue, so check the channel itself. If the post isn't there, go back to the scheduled posts list and see whether an error mark or a failed-to-send message appeared next to the entry.
If MAX uses the device's time zone, subscribers will see the post at the same moment, but the time in their interface may display differently. So for a stream announcement, focus on the actual start time of the broadcast and check the time settings on your device in advance.

How to edit or cancel a post
Open the list of scheduled entries and select the post you need. If editing is available in your version of MAX, change the text, attachment, or time, then save the updates. After saving, check the date and time on the card again.
If there's no separate edit button, cancel the schedule and create the post again. Before deleting, copy the text and save the necessary files so you don't lose the prepared material.
- To reschedule the post, choose a new date and time if that setting is available.
- To change the content, edit the text or replace the attachment before saving.
- To cancel, use the delete option, cancel schedule, or a similar command.
- After any change, check the entry in the scheduled posts list.
If MAX doesn't have a scheduling button
First, check where the command is located next to the send button. In one interface it opens by tapping the arrow; in another, by pressing and holding the button or via the clock icon. Sometimes the needed option isn't in the editor but in the menu of a created but not yet sent entry.
Update the app and reopen the channel. Also compare the mobile and web versions of MAX: the set of features and the layout of elements may differ. If you're creating a post with an attachment, try temporarily removing the video or file and check whether scheduling appears for text only.
If the button still doesn't appear, the feature may be unavailable for a specific post type, channel, or current interface version. A temporary workaround is to save the finished text in drafts and set a reminder for the right time. A draft won't go out on its own, so you'll have to send the post manually.
Don't delete the prepared material until you're sure the new version of the post was saved. When you try again, check the date, time zone, and attachment uploads — these are common reasons the setup can't be completed.
In short: what to do step by step
- Open the desired channel in MAX and check that you have access to manage posts.
- Create a post and add text, a link, an image, or a video.
- Wait for the attachments to fully upload and check that they display.
- Open the menu next to the send button and choose scheduling.
- Set the date and time according to your device's time zone.
- Check the post in the scheduled posts queue.
- After the scheduled time, find the entry in the channel and make sure it's published.
