How to Repost on VKontakte and Submit Your Report Correctly
Who This Guide Is For
The first sections are intended for the performer: they show how to share someone else's post on VKontakte and provide a link to the completed action. After that comes a separate block for the client — the owner of a page, community, or advertising campaign.
Button names may differ in the app, mobile version, and browser. The general sequence remains the same: open the original post, choose where to publish, check the result, and send the link to the repost you created specifically.
Performer: Open the Original Post
Go to the post you need to share. This could be a post on a personal page, in a community, or a post accessible via a direct link.
- Make sure you've opened the correct post, not the community page or the author's profile.
- Check the text, images, video, and attached links.
- Click the "Share" button under the post.
- Choose to publish on your own page or in the required community.
If the task specifies a group, a personal page won't work. To publish on behalf of a community, you must have the appropriate permissions.
Publish the Repost on VKontakte
After choosing where to publish, an editing window will open. There you can add a comment, change the post's visibility, and check exactly what will be published.
- Don't edit the original text if the task terms prohibit it.
- Don't remove images, video, or links from the post.
- Don't add an advertising or personal comment unless the client has asked for one.
- Choose the audience that matches the task requirements.
- Click the publish button and wait for the post to appear.
Clicking "Share" alone doesn't confirm completion. Open your page or community and make sure the repost has actually appeared among your published posts.
Check Your Repost's Visibility
Before submitting your report, check whether other users can open your post. Click the date or time of the repost to open it as a separate page, and review the visibility settings.
- For a personal page, the post shouldn't be visible to friends only if the task requires a public repost.
- For a community, check that it's open to the users who need to view the report.
- Make sure the post isn't saved as a draft and isn't restricted by audience settings.
- Check that the original post and all attachments open without requiring additional access.
If the task doesn't require public posting, follow its terms. Don't change the settings after submitting your report: this can cause the link to stop opening during review.
Copy the Link to the Published Repost
The report requires a link to your new post, not the address of the original post. Open the repost separately and copy its URL from the address bar or via the post menu.
- In your browser, click the date or time the post was published.
- Copy the address of the page that opens.
- In the app, open the three-dot menu and select the option to copy the link or share the post.
- Paste the address into the report field of the promotion service.
Before submitting, open the link in a new window or on another device. It should lead to your repost, not the original post, the profile's main page, or the community page.
What to Include in the Performer's Report
A minimal report usually contains a link to the published post. If the service or client specifically requests a screenshot, add it along with the URL. The image confirms the post was published, but it doesn't replace the link if the review is done using the post's address.
- The link leads directly to the repost you created.
- The post is on the correct profile or community.
- The post retains the required elements of the original post.
- The visibility matches the task terms.
- The report is submitted after the post is actually published.
Don't submit several links without explanation. If you accidentally provided the wrong URL, correct the report in the field provided by the service or report the error according to the task rules.
Client: Prepare the Original Post
Before creating a campaign, open the original post and make sure it can be used for a public task. The link should lead directly to the post, not the profile's main page, the news feed, or the community as a whole.
- The post is published and not in drafts.
- The post isn't deleted and opens via a direct link.
- It retains the required text, images, video, and links.
- The "Share" button is available to the users who will complete the task.
- The post isn't restricted to a private group or a narrow circle of users if public reach is required.
If the original post changes after launch, performers may share a different version of the post. Significant changes are best made before creating the task.
Set Up the Repost Task
Open the task or new campaign creation section in the promotion service. Select the VK platform and the "Repost" action or a similar activity type.
- Paste the link to the original post into the task card.
- Specify where to publish: the performer's personal page or a community.
- Describe the requirements for the text, attachments, comment, and visibility.
- Specify the number of completions, price, acceptance deadline, and review rules.
- Determine whether a report with a link is needed and whether a screenshot is required.
- Check the calculation and send the task for launch.
The link in the task card leads to the original post. The link the performer provides after completing the work leads to their published repost. These addresses must not be swapped.
Check Privacy Settings Before Launch
Privacy needs to be checked in two places: on the original post and on the performer's expected report. First, open the original post not from the admin interface, but as a regular user via a direct link.
- Check that the original post is visible to the users the task is intended for.
- If the post is published on a personal page, check the post's audience restriction in the profile's privacy settings.
- If the post is published in a community, make sure the community and the post itself are accessible without private membership when this isn't required by the task terms.
- Check the accessibility of the attached video, image, and link.
- Make sure the "Share" action is available to the user.
Then define the requirements for the performer's post. If the report must be public, specify that a post on a personal page cannot be visible to friends only, and a post in a community must not be hidden from reviewers.
Set Clear Requirements for the Post
In the task description, separately state what is allowed to be changed and what must be preserved. The performer shouldn't have to guess whether they can add a comment or choose a different audience.
- Specify whether an exact repost without your own text is required.
- List the required attachments that must not be removed.
- State where to publish the post: on a profile or a specific community.
- Specify the required post visibility.
- Describe the report format: link, screenshot, or both.
- Define the rules in advance for duplicates, deleted posts, and correcting an incorrect link.
If a comment is allowed, set its format and length. If a comment is prohibited, state this directly in the task. Such requirements simplify review and reduce the number of disputed completions.
How to Monitor Counters in the Service
The repost counter on the original post and the number of accepted reports are different metrics. To monitor, open the campaign card in the service, go to the statistics or reports section, and select the desired period.
- Record the planned number of completions before launch.
- View the "accepted," "under review," "rejected," and other statuses if they're available in the dashboard.
- Compare the number of accepted actions with the task limit.
- Open the report list and check how many links have already been processed.
- Refresh the page before re-checking: new statuses may not appear immediately.
- Save the date and time of your check, and if an export function is available, download the report.
The repost counter under the original post can only be used as an additional reference. It may update with a delay and doesn't show which specific reports have been accepted by the service.
Checklist for Quick Report Review
To avoid opening each link haphazardly, review reports using a single scheme. First match the status and deadline, then open the URL and check the post's content.
- The report belongs to the correct task and was submitted before the deadline.
- The link opens without an error and leads directly to the post.
- The post is published on the required profile or community.
- The date and author of the post match the performer.
- The post retains the original text and required attachments.
- The post's visibility allows for review.
- No other report has already been accepted for this URL, if the service prohibits duplicates.
If the link leads to the original post, the profile's main page, or a private post, such a report cannot be considered confirmed without correction. It's best to state the reason for rejection briefly and specifically.
Common Mistakes When Setting Up a Task
- A link to a profile or community is pasted into the original post field instead of the URL of a specific post.
- The description requires a link to the repost, but only a screenshot is accepted in the report form.
- The client confuses the link from the task card with the address the performer should send.
- A post in a community is specified, even though the performers don't have permission to publish posts there.
- It isn't clarified whether a comment can be added or the post text changed.
- A task is launched for a private post that some performers can't open.
- The number of reposts on VKontakte is confused with the number of accepted reports in the dashboard.
- The rules for reviewing duplicates and resubmitting an incorrect link aren't defined.
Before launching, open the task card as a performer and check whether the original link, publishing location, visibility requirements, and report format are clear. This helps you spot a mistake before completion begins.
