Maddyson on Russian-language Twitch: There's no cheating

Streamer Ilya Maddyson Davydov once again shared his opinion on the situation regarding viewer boosting among Russian-speaking streamers. This time, he noted that he had previously been mistaken in his statements and is now ready to publicly close the issue. Davydov published his statement on Telegram.

Maddyson’s Statements About Viewer Boosting

Ilya Maddyson Davydov:

"Alright, guys, I’ve analyzed the situation on Russian Twitch once again and have come to the conclusion that there is no viewer boosting. Buster, Evelone, sasavot, anarabdullaev — you guys are awesome, raising streaming to a new level. I also consider it a very positive sign that sponsors are being attracted — including betting companies, which develop sports and other directions.

So… well, guys. If I had any complaints towards you, they are, of course, gone. I just got a bit carried away — purely for self-promotion. I shake your hands, so to speak, and wish you luck on your creative path."

Maddyson also apologized to other content creators and stated that he considers the topic of viewer boosting closed for himself.

Analysis of the Situation and Public Apology

Previously, Maddyson had been very outspoken about streaming, discussing the successes of individual creators and projects, often emotionally and with harsh words. In his new statement, he admitted that some of his statements were mistaken and hasty. The streamer noted that some conclusions were drawn without sufficient grounds, and some of the rhetoric was used simply to attract attention.

He emphasized that personal attacks and insults were unacceptable and did not correspond to normal dialogue. According to Davydov, the success of other streamers deserves respect and is the result of hard work, teamwork, and correct decisions.

Maddyson’s Statements About the Professional Industry

Ilya Maddyson Davydov:

"Recently, I have expressed myself quite sharply regarding streaming, numbers, and the success of certain people and projects. Today, I want to publicly close this topic and say a few important things.

Some of my statements were mistaken. In some cases, I drew conclusions without sufficient grounds, in others I spoke on emotions, and in some cases I deliberately used harsh rhetoric just to attract attention and discussion. This was the wrong approach.

I also want to apologize for insults and personal attacks. This should not have been done at all. Such a tone does not embellish anything and has nothing to do with normal dialogue. I have the utmost respect for everyone working in the industry, both guys and girls. All my harsh words and insults have nothing to do with reality and do not reflect my true attitude toward these people.

I have never felt and do not feel any negativity, resentment, or personal hostility towards any of them. The successes of other people in the media space are the result of hard work, time, teamwork, and correct decisions. This deserves respect.

I have no grounds to claim that there is systemic dishonesty or viewer boosting in streaming. The numbers and results I see now look logical and adequate, and the success of many projects is justified.

I also consider it important to say that there is nothing wrong with legal betting sponsorships. This is a normal part of the modern media sphere, sports, and esports, which helps the development of projects and the entire industry.

We live in a period of active growth of streaming as a phenomenon, and it is truly an interesting time. I am sincerely happy for those who have achieved great results, and I will follow their further development and projects with interest.

I now consider the topic of accusations, viewer boosting, and harsh statements completely closed for myself. I wish all industry participants success, growth, and all the very best."

Background of the Conflict

At the beginning of 2026, Maddyson accused top streamers of viewer boosting. For example, he told Kirill Cake Zabrodin: “With your content, only 100 real people are watching you right now.” Such statements caused wide resonance in the media and discussions on social networks. Previously, Maddyson had already spoken about viewer boosting in November 2025.
