TikTok LIVE Subscription (Super Fan): How to Enable It and How Much You Can Earn in 2026
Since September 15, 2025, the paid subscription for TikTok livestreams has been called Super Fan. It is a monthly membership inside a creator's fan club: a viewer pays a fixed amount, $9.99 a month or the equivalent in local currency, and in return gets a permanent badge, access to Super Fan-only streams and chat, and other perks. TikTok sets the price, and the creator cannot change it. According to Creator Academy, the creator receives up to 50% of revenue after payment fees, which works out to roughly $3.50-$4.25 per subscription. The old name LIVE Subscription is no longer used, and Subscription itself remains, but it is now about locked videos and posts rather than livestreams. You can enable Super Fan only from age 18 and only in countries where TikTok has launched fan clubs. This is not available from Russia: LIVE and monetization have been unavailable to Russian users since 2022.
LIVE Subscription, Subscription and Super Fan: why there are three names
The names are confusing because TikTok has reworked its paid subscriptions several times. A short timeline:
- May 2022: LIVE Subscription. TikTok launched a monthly subscription to streamers, first by invitation and then more widely. Requirements for the creator: 18 years old and at least 1,000 followers. Perks: badges, custom emotes and subscriber-only chat.
- 2023: new perks. Subscriber-only videos and streams were added.
- September 2024: simply Subscription. The subscription was renamed and opened to creators who do not stream. Three tiers with different prices and a private space called Sub Space appeared.
- September 2025: Super Fan. Everything related to livestreams was moved into a separate product inside the LIVE fan club. Subscribers who paid mainly for livestream perks were moved to Super Fan automatically; the rest stayed in Subscription.
In 2026 TikTok has two paid formats. A streamer needs Super Fan; a creator of videos and posts needs Subscription. You can enable both if your account meets the requirements.
| Parameter | Super Fan | Subscription |
|---|---|---|
| Who it is for | Streamers, perks during livestreams | Creators of videos, posts and stories |
| Price for the viewer | $9.99 a month, price set by TikTok | Set by the creator: from $2.99 to $99.99 |
| Creator share | Up to 50% after payment fees | 50-70% base, with a bonus up to 70-90% depending on region |
| Entry threshold | Not published in detail | 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in a month |
TikTok publishes the Super Fan details and the Subscription price range in Creator Academy and in the app. The service changes its terms over time, so check the monetization section in your own account.
Who can enable Super Fan
TikTok does not list a separate set of Super Fan requirements in public sources, as it does for Subscription. In practice, the conditions of LIVE itself and of the fan club apply:
- Age: 18. Since 2022 TikTok has allowed only adults to go live and to receive gifts and subscriptions. In South Korea, according to Creator Academy as retold by guide authors, the age is 19.
- Access to LIVE and gifts. If your account has no gift button and no LIVE rewards section, Super Fan will not appear either.
- Personal account. LIVE gifts are unavailable for business accounts, and without them the fan club does not work either.
- A clean account. Community Guidelines warnings can shut off monetization. For details on what triggers penalties, see our guide to the TikTok LIVE rules.
- Region. Fan club and Super Fan are not available in every country. TikTok does not publish a full list of countries, so check in the app.
The minimum follower count for Super Fan has not been officially stated. Access to livestreaming itself also comes with a threshold from TikTok that differs between regions and is not publicly fixed; most often creators mention 1,000 followers. For Subscription the threshold is official: 18 years old, 10,000 followers, 100,000 video views over the previous calendar month and an account in good standing.
How much a subscription costs and how much the creator gets
A viewer pays $9.99 a month for Super Fan, or the local equivalent; the subscription renews automatically and can be canceled at any time. The price in euros, rubles or tenge may differ because of taxes and exchange rates.
The creator's share is more complicated. For Super Fan, TikTok gives the formula “up to 50% of net revenue after payment processing fees”, and the exact amount depends on several factors, including the number of subscribers. If the subscription was bought through the App Store or Google Play, the store takes 15-30%. A rough calculation for one $9.99 subscription at the maximum share:
| Store fee | Left after the fee | To the creator (50%) |
|---|---|---|
| 30% | about $7 | about $3.50 |
| 15% | about $8.50 | about $4.25 |
So 100 Super Fans bring a streamer roughly $350-$425 a month before taxes. This is the upper limit: TikTok says “up to 50%”, and there is no guaranteed share.
For Subscription, the terms differ by country. Since October 1, 2025, creators in the US and Canada get a base 70% after store fees and can earn another 20% as a bonus, for up to 90% in total. In other regions the base is 50%, the bonus is up to 20%, and the maximum is 70%. The bonus is awarded for activity: according to Creator Academy, the condition is 10,000 followers and at least a million views in the previous month, and some descriptions also add regular subscriber-only posts. Also note that the Subscription agreement, which TikTok updated in March 2024, states a 50% service fee on net revenue, and this does not fully match the Creator Academy figures. Go by what the monetization section in your account shows.
A subscription is not the only income from streaming. For most creators, gifts and diamonds still pay more; how they work is explained in the article on gifts in TikTok LIVE, coins and diamonds.
What the subscriber gets
Perks are the main reason a viewer pays every month. LIVE Subscription had three basic ones from 2022: a badge next to the name that improves over time, the creator's emotes for chat, and a subscriber-only chat mode. Super Fan expanded the set. According to Creator Academy, as cited by third-party guides:
- a permanent Super Fan badge and an entrance effect when joining a stream;
- automatic fan club membership starting right at level 10, with faster leveling;
- Super Fan-only streams, with the option to show everyone else a 60-second preview;
- Super Fan-only comments and chat;
- a separate Super Fan space for posts, polls and discussions;
- special gifts, including Super Popular, while Go Popular gifts count double;
- emotes for Super Fans;
- the creator's own perks: priority in multi-guest streams and direct messages, a pinned comment, a voice shout-out, mini-games with viewers.
Subscription has its own set: locked videos and posts, a badge in comments, sticker packs, Sub Space and perks from a ready-made list, for example a Discord role, playing together, behind-the-scenes clips.
How to enable and set up Super Fan
Menu item names depend on the app version and language, but the path is usually this:
- Open LIVE Center, the livestream control hub in the app or in TikTok Studio.
- Go to the Fan Club section. It is on by default, and the first members appear when a viewer sends the Heart Me gift.
- On the fan club tools tab, find the Super Fan perks settings. If the item is missing, the feature is not yet available for your account or country.
- Choose perks you can actually deliver: emotes, priority in multi-guest streams, pinned messages, shout-outs.
- Set up a Super Fan goal for the stream, a bar that shows how many Super Fans are left to reach the goal.
- Check your earnings in the Balance section or in LIVE Center → Fan Club.
The creator does not set price tiers in Super Fan: there is one price, and TikTok sets it. Tiers can be created only in Subscription. The path: Profile → menu → TikTok Studio → Monetization → Subscription. Three tiers are available there, each with its own price and its own set of perks. A good scheme is a basic tier for a badge and stickers, a middle tier for locked videos, and a top tier for personal contact or playing together.
How to promote the subscription during a stream
A viewer subscribes not because they were asked to, but because it is clear what they are paying for. What works:
- Show the perks in action. Use Super Fan emotes in chat, answer those viewers first, mention them by name. Everyone else will see that the badge really does something.
- Hold a regular private stream. For example, one hour a week for Super Fans only: a breakdown of your games, Q&A, playing together. The 60-second preview shows everyone else what they are missing.
- Set a goal for the stream. A bar like “5 more Super Fans until the private stream” is clearer than general requests to support the channel.
- Thank people publicly, without pressure. TikTok prohibits begging for gifts and promising something in return for a gift. Talk about the perks calmly, without “if you don’t subscribe, you’re no friend of mine.”
- Keep a schedule. A subscription is a promise a month ahead. If you stream once every two weeks, the perks lose their value and subscribers leave.
- Bring in viewers from short videos. Clips from private streams and announcements in your regular feed bring new people to the stream.
Super Fans come from regular viewers, so you first need a stable audience: only a small share of viewers pay, and without viewers in the stream a subscription has nobody to grow from. We explain how to gather your first viewers in the article on how to get viewers on TikTok LIVE. Our service can also help at the start: you can order TikTok LIVE viewers or build your own plan in the viewer management panel, so your stream does not start from zero and reaches recommendations faster.
Is the subscription available in Russia and the CIS
In Russia, no. On March 6, 2022, TikTok itself suspended livestreams and uploads of new content for Russian users. According to Russian media as of 2026, nothing has changed: from a Russian IP address, the official app lets you neither host nor watch LIVE, and official monetization, meaning gifts, subscriptions and the rewards program, is unavailable. TikTok has not given any timeline for a return.
For Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Armenia and other CIS countries, TikTok publishes no separate list: access to LIVE, gifts, the fan club and Super Fan depends on the country and may appear gradually. The most reliable way to check is to see whether your account has a Fan Club section in LIVE Center and a Subscription item in TikTok Studio. If they are missing, the feature has not yet launched in your country. Streamers from Russia who need a subscription model right now should look at platforms where it works officially: Twitch, YouTube, VK Video Live, Boosty.
Frequently asked questions
How does Super Fan differ from Subscription on TikTok?
Super Fan is a subscription for livestreams: a badge, and chat and streams for Super Fans only, at a fixed price of $9.99 a month. Subscription is a subscription to locked videos and posts, where the creator sets the price and up to three tiers. You can enable both formats.
Can I change the Super Fan price?
No. TikTok sets the price, and in different countries it is converted into local currency. If you need your own tiers and prices, use Subscription.
How many followers do I need for Super Fan?
The official threshold for Super Fan has not been published. You need access to LIVE and gifts, age 18+ and a supported region. For Subscription the threshold is known: 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the previous month.
How much does a streamer get from one Super Fan?
Up to 50% of revenue after payment fees, which by our calculation is roughly $3.50-$4.25 from a $9.99 subscription. TikTok does not guarantee the exact share, and it depends on several factors.
Where did my subscribers go after the switch to Super Fan?
Those who paid mainly for livestream perks moved to Super Fan automatically; the rest stayed in Subscription. Subscriptions priced above $9.99 were lowered to $9.99, and cheaper ones kept their old price for three months, after which they also began to cost $9.99.
Can I enable Super Fan from Russia?
No. Since 2022, TikTok LIVE and monetization have been unavailable to users in Russia, and as of 2026 nothing has officially changed.
